ArtBook Invitations 2014 [closed]

I have been stewing on this idea for a while and I will be starting to bring it into production. Me and Bella made an attempt at this a year or so ago with a book called Mille Etoiles, however it fell through. I might bring that back in the future, but not now.

I will be creating a Melon Berry Tea art book. No, it will not be filled with MBTea's characters instead it will be filled with OC's from various artist in addition to an artists Bio and possibly some tutorials.

The theme of the book will be tea and sweets! All artwork must be custom for this book and have the corresponding theme. Please do not deviate away from this. All characters must be original characters. No fanart allowed.

As an avid fan of supporting your favorite artists through commissions ((which I buy a lot of aha... help)) and comments/other support I would like everyone to sponsor one of these up and coming artists. Some are already well known but that's okay!
How this will work is I will be setting up a page on my website where you can donate to the artist directly to their paypal! There will be money goals to meet with additional prizes. None of the money you spend there will go to MBTea or any other artist other than the artist you chose. All production costs of the book and marketing of the book will be funded by MBTea.

The book will be fund raised by fans. You will post a small banner in addition to a small bio on our fundraiser page. We will request your paypal address if you accept in order to directly send you the funds you earn. Just your paypal email, just like taking a commission. There will be money goals. At $100 you are required to draw 1 8" x 10" illustration with .25" of bleed, at $120 you are required to create a biography for yourself. Provide either a photo of yourself or artwork that you have created from the profile image. Chose at least4 other previously drawn images, sketches and wips work as well, to also show case on your biography spread. At $200 you will create all of the previous plus a 3.5" x 2.3" clear card illustration for a custom book mark. The card will be printed on clear plastic! So please leave the background mostly blank for the best effect. I will provide an example if you need it~ Lastly if you fund $250 or more you will create a tutorial or walk through. It must be related to your art work but what you choose to share is up to you. If you do not comply with these terms, MBTea will send you an invoice for whatever amount you failed to complete. ((Really hope this doesn't happen! You will have plenty of time!))

Should fans not provide you with enough fund raising, god forbid, MBTea will sponsor the rest up to $60 per artist. You will end up in the book if you are invited, no exceptions.

Each artist will receive two copies of the book, one for themselves, and one for someone else or a second copy to keep. If you would like to request more for selling please contact me at melonberrytea@hotmail.com - you will have to front the cost of production for however many books you require. So if you want 5 more books to sell you will have to pay for 5 books. If you do plan on selling them you must sell them for the price set by MBTea each in order to create fair competition amongst all of the artists participating. No underselling please. Price will be determined once the number of pages and artists is established.

MBT will not claim any credit or ownership for your artwork or original characters, so rest at ease. They are your creation and will remain as such. We're simply providing a spot light for you and an opportunity to raise funds for what ever you wish.

However, please note that MBTea reserves sole right to preorders. This is purely to fund the creation and production of the book as it does cost a lot of money! The reason you as an artist will be able to keep all the fund raised money is because MBTea will fund the book production. Enjoy your money, it was hard earned and given to you by fans of your work. Be proud!

If you are not planning to participate but would like to contribute to the production of this book via supporting an artist, please wait for the sponsoring journal and creation of a group in January. All artists will be drafted no later than January 1st! No further additions will be made after that time. All artists will have until May 1st 2014 to complete all of their art work. That is 5 months, more than enough time!
